Telemetry

Today the flexibility of digital telemetry systems has increased its popularity as a means of bringing monitoring to the patient, allowing patients to resume normal activities and speed the recovery process. Healthcare providers are increasingly relying on this type of flexible monitoring in adapting their systems to provide high-quality care in the most cost-effective manner. Spacelabs has always been a pioneer in medical telemetry, from the US space program in the 1950's and 60's through today's innovations in Wireless Medical Telemetry Service (WMTS). Contact Us at CMI to discuss how we can help your facility design a customized installation.

WMTS alert: PLMRS Freeze expires Dec 31, 2005!
When the FCC set aside the WMTS bands for hospital use (608-614 MHz, 1395-1400 MHz, 1427-1432 MHz), they also stopped issuing licenses in the frequencies then in use by hospitals (460-470 MHZ). That freeze has been removed as of 12/31/05.
Hospitals who have not yet migrated to WMTS should accelerate their plans to do so to avoid increasing interference problems from other radio band users. In addition, hospitals also need to register their telemetry equipment with ASHE.
