Anesthesia practitioners will now have the opportunity to use an advanced anesthesia system previously available only outside North America. Spacelabs Healthcare is expanding into the U.S. anesthesia market with the launch of the BleaseSiriusTM, one of the worlds most advanced anesthesia systems, together with Spacelabs Medicals new Perioperative Monitoring Suite, as announced at this year's American Society of Anesthesiologists meeting in October.
The BleaseSirius features advanced ventilation, enabling clinicians to set up the ventilator to match both clinical and patient needs with the high degree of precision usually associated with Intensive Care. Blease ventilators provide Precision Pressure Control VentilationTM (PPCV), which further enhances the performance, safety and precision of the ventilator by actively controlling flow into and out of the ventilation drive system throughout the entire respiratory cycle. Five new Blease ventilators were introduced earlier this year.
In conjunction with the Blease system, Spacelabs Healthcare is introducing the UltraviewSL Perioperative Monitoring Suite, consisting of a Multigas Analyzer, Perioperative software and BIS module. The Multigas Analyzer measures O2, CO2, N2O and five anesthetic agents, with the ability to identify mixed agents. The softwares offerings include a start/end case feature that provides an easy transition between the setup, start and end of a procedure, with one-button commands for each, while the BIS module provides information on patient sedation.
